Dieser Beitrag entbehrt nicht einer gewissen Tragik, denn so erfreulich die Tatsache auch scheint, dass um 1903 ein konvertierter Deutschfranzose namens Muhammad Adil Schmitz du Moulin in Deutschland eine umfangreiche Bandreihe publizierte, die einzig und allein das Ziel hatte zum Islam einzuladen, umso ärgerlicher macht jedoch der Umstand, dass dieser Schmitz du Moulin trotz seines beachtlichen Wissens, seiner angenehmen Rhetorik und seines vorbildhaften Engagements eine vollkommen verkorkste Aqidah hatte.
Dieser anscheinend hochintelligente, belesene und honorige Mensch hatte eine typisch deutsche Art seine Leidenschaft zu teilen. Sachlich, fast schon trocken, aber trotz alledem voller Würde und Inbrunst versuchte Schmitz du Moulin den von eklatanter Unwissenheit geplagten Reichsdeutschen über die wahre Natur des Islams aufzuklären.
Speziell Band 11 seiner Ritter des Lichtes-Reihe ist in dieser Hinsicht wohl einmalig für die damalige Zeit im Deutschen Kaiserreich. Abgesehen von einigen Aussagen, die seiner schon erwähnten verkorksten Aqidah entsprangen, ist dieser Band eine sehr gelungene Aufklärung und Verteidigung des Islams und seines letzten Gesandten – Allah segne ihn und schenke ihm Heil -.
Jetzt wird sich vielleicht manch ein Muslim fragen, was der Yahya wohl mit verkorkster Aqidah meinen könnte, immerhin ist er ja ein Exemplar dieser gefährlichen Gattung namens Salafisten, die besonders streng und manchmal gewiss auch übertrieben penibel auf Abweichungen in diesem und anderen Bereichen der islamischen Wissenschaften achten und gerne auch schnell mit den Begriffen Mubtabi‘ (Neuerungsträger) und Kafir (Ungläubiger) bei der Stange sind.
Nun, leider befürchte ich tatsächlich, dass Schmitz du Moulin einen dermaßen gewaltigen Fehler in der Aqidah hatte, dass man von ihm als Muslim nicht wirklich sprechen kann. Das endgültige Urteil über ihn obliegt natürlich allein Allah dem Erhabenen, aber das Urteil über seinen Zustand im Diesseits, welches nach bestimmten Regeln des Fiqhs zustande kommt, obliegt nun einmal den Menschen und hier weist dieses wunderbare Werk von Schmitz du Moulin leider auch eindeutigen und gefährlichen Kuffr auf. Am besten spicke ich diesen Beitrag einfach mit ein paar wenigen Aussagen, die ein Urteil ggf. beeinflussen würden:

Das waren bei weitem nicht die einzigen Fauxpas die ihm in seinem Werk unterliefen. Die Lektüre dieses Machwerkes darf also keinesfalls als Lehrstück verstanden werden, sondern eher als ein interessantes und aufschlussreiches Zeitzeugnis, denn neben diesen offensichtlichen und sicherlich auch gewaltigen Fehlern glänzt dieses Buch auch mit wunderbaren historischen und literarischen Details.
Schmitz du Moulin war zweifellos ein intelligenter und moralischer Mensch, mit einer großen Leidenschaft für den Islam und seine Gesandten. Nur leider scheint er auf der Suche nach Wissen und Erleuchtung an die falschen Menschen geraten zu sein, die ihn einen Islam lehrten, der von den wahren Gelehrten wahrscheinlich nicht als solcher anerkannt wird.
Man kann nur hoffen, dass er zum Ende seines Lebens noch eine Rechtleitung erfuhr und mit dem wahren Bekenntnis auf der Zunge die Dunya verlassen durfte.
