Die Führungsriegen der Taliban stehen in der Lehrtradition der Deobandi-Schulen, welche bekannt sind für ihre hanefitische Lehre und den gelebten und gelehrten Sufismus. Die Taliban haben übrigens schon Köpfe abgeschnitten, da haben die meisten heutigen IS-Kämpfer noch als Speisequark im Schaufenster gestanden.
