«Man hat ja den Eindruck das orthodoxe Juden für die Debatten der Katholiken irgendwie mehr Verständnis haben als liberale (Juden). Könnte das stimmen? Woran liegt das?»Rabbiner Jehoschua Ahrens (von der Orthodoxen Rabbinerkonferenz):
«Ich glaube schon dass das so ist und dass es verschiedene Ansätze, sozusagen, des Dialogs auch von jüdischer Seite her gibt. Wir orthodoxe Rabbiner haben, glaube ich, stärker eine Tradition, ein Gerüst sozusagen, in dem wir verankert sind und wo wir auch ganz genau diskutieren, aus unseren Quellen, aus unserer Tradition heraus, wie wir das Christentum oder auch den Dialog mit den Christen zu bewerten haben. Und da haben wir Verständnis, dass das die Katholiken genauso machen und dass wir jetzt nicht vielleicht einfach irgendetwas sagen, sondern auch versuchen zu schauen, inwieweit ist das in der katholischen Theologie begründet.Das heißt also, wir möchten keinen Dialog, in dem man einfach irgendwie von seiner eigenen Wahrheit etwas aufgibt und dann sagt, wir treffen uns in der Mitte – das ist Quatsch – , sondern es ist wichtig, dass man eben aus seiner Tradition und mit seiner Tradition einen Weg findet, wie man auch den Anderen respektieren und anerkennen kann. Und dass es da vielleicht auch mal unterschiedliche Ansichten gibt und dass es da auch Dinge gibt, an denen wir sicherlich theologisch nicht zusammenkommen, das ist klar, aber das bedeutet nicht, dass dadurch der Dialog leiden muss.»

Die Sendung Schabat Schalom ist, wie man am Namen bereits merkt, ein wöchentliches Magazin für Juden, das jeden Freitag gewissermaßen den jüdischen Ruhetag einläutet. Ebenso wie bei uns Muslimen, beginnt der jüdische Tag NICHT – wie Europa üblich – ab 0:00 Mitternacht, sondern bereits mit dem Sonnenuntergang am Tag zuvor. Der Samstag (Schabat) der Juden beginnt dementspechend also bereits am Freitagabend, sobald die Sonne komplett hinter dem Horizont verschwunden ist.
Für uns Muslime wird mit diesem Moment nicht nur der neue Tag eingeläutet, sondern auch die Gebetszeit für das Maghrib-Gebet.
Ich höre mir den Schabat Schalom Radio-Podcast jede Woche an. Es geht darin um Religiöses ebenso wie um gesellschaftliche Themen rund um Juden und das Judentum.
Der oben verlinkte Podcast thematisiert gleich zu Beginn ein internes vatikanisches Schriftstück, das sich inhaltlich mit der kirchentheologischen Sichtweise auf das Judentum befasst. Nach klassischer katholischer Lehre setzt sich die Katholische Kirche in Ihrer Verbindung zu Gott an die Stelle des Judentums, fasst sich also als die wahre Gemeinschaft auf, mit der Gott einen festen Bund eingegangen ist.
Der emeritierte Papst Benedikt XVI. legte jedoch in seinem kircheninternen Schreiben dar, dass es in dieser Frage des Bundes mit Gott innerhalb der Katholischen Krche immer auch andere Meinungen gab.
Das Schreiben wird in Kreisen liberaler Rabbiner bereits als antisemitisch wahrgenommen und heftigst kritisiert, während orthodoxe Rabbiner dahingehen viel mehr Verständnis für die katholische Lehrtradition aufbringen.
Mich hat das jüdisch-orthodoxe Verständnis von interreligiösem Dialog sofort überzeugt als ich es im Interview hörte. Deshalb musste ich es hier unbedingt mit euch teilen.
