So schrieb es 1935 der Reichsführer der SS, Heinrich Himmler. Ein erschütterndes Zeitdokument, vor allem für diejenigen die sich bisher noch nicht so detailiert mit dem Antisemitismus in Deutschland auseinandergesetzt haben. Es ist geradezu unglaublich, dass es zu dieser Zeit, also vor lediglich 75 Jahren, möglich war, mit derartig hasserfüllten und offensichtlich maßlos überzogenen Phrasen einen Volkszorn in Deutschland zu erzeugen, der im weiterem Verlauf die Ermordung von offiziell mehreren Millionen Juden ermöglichte.
Ab diesem Punkt gab es eine klare Abgrenzung zum Antisemitismus aus christlicher und wirtschaftlicher Wurzel. Durch die vergiftete Literatur von Schriftstellern wie Arthur de Gobineau, Houston Stewart Chamberlain und dem antitheistischen Rasse-Philosophen Eugen Dühring bekam der rassistische Antisemitismus einen wissenschaftlichen Anstrich. Jude war Jude, allein aus seiner „rassischen Physiognomie“ heraus.
Durch Eugen Dührungs (1833-1921) Argumentation geriet in den rassischen Antisemitismus ein neuer Akzent. War bisher der Gedanke verbindlich gewesen, daß durch Taufe die jüdische Existenz aufgehoben würde („Taufe bricht Rasse“), so betonte Dühring nachdrücklich, durch religiöse Akte werde an der rassischen Physiognomie nichts geändert und durch sein „Blut“ bleibe man unentrinnbar Jude.

Diese Rasse-Philosophie eines Eugen Dühring wurde 1zu1 in den Propaganda-Apparat der NSDAP übernommen, wie man z.B. im folgenden Auszug aus dem Kampf- und Werbeblatt der SS, Das Schwarze Korp, von 1938 entnehmen kann:
Für uns war, ist und bleibt der Jude unser Feind, dessen Wesensart ihm auf Grund seiner rassischen Zusammensetzung gebietet, Feind zu sein, und der nicht etwa aus eigenem Gutdünken unser Freund werden kann. Für uns gab es keinen „anständigen“ Juden, der ein so schlechter Jude ist, daß er beinahe als Arier gelten könnte. Denn ein Mensch vermag seine Rasse nicht zu verleugnen, selbst wenn er´s wollte.
Aber nicht nur innerhalb der NSDAP und in weiten Teilen der Bevölkerung fiel dieser rassische Judenhass auf fruchtbaren Boden. Auch die christlichen Kirchen waren Steigbügelhalter und Unterstützer dieser unmenschlichen Ideologie. Speziell innerhalb der evangelischen Kirche kam es zu Überlegungen, die Religion zugunsten dieser Ideologie und ihrem Führer zu verändern und somit anzupassen.
Seit den zwanziger Jahren machten sich Bestrebungen geltend, das „jüdische“ Element in der Überlieferung zu tilgen. Das Alte Testament sollte wegen seines „undeutschen“ Charakters aus dem Kanon entfernt und ein dem „germanischen Rassegefühl“ entsprechend gereinigtes Christentum gepflegt werden. Die Gruppe der „Deutschen Christen“, die nach 1933 die Führung innerhalb der Evangelischen Landeskirchen errang, kam neben der Anerkennung des „Führers“ als religiöse Rettergestalt folgerichtig auch zur Anwendung des Arierparagraphen“, d.h., Pastoren jüdischer Abstammung durften fernerhin nicht kirchliche Amtsträger bleiben.
