„Allenfalls zur Bürgermeisterwahl in meiner brandenburgischen Kleinstadt. Ansonsten ist es mir schlichtweg peinlich, wie die meisten Deutschen alle vier Jahre an die Urne pilgern und gleichzeitig die Überzeugung hegen, es würde sich „ja doch nichts ändern“ oder „die da oben machen doch was sie wollen“. Warum bleiben die Leute mit solcher Meinung dann am Wahltag nicht einfach zu Hause? Bei einer Wahlbeteiligung im Bund von unter zehn Prozent würden selbst die lautstärksten Wahlarithmetiker und Demokratielobhudler erheblich Probleme bekommen. Wer meint, unbedingt etwas in diesem Land ändern zu müssen, sollte zumindest dem System der Fassadendemokratie seine Verachtung zeigen, indem er sich nicht von ihm als Trauzeuge missbrauchen lässt. Doch viele Deutsche scheinen einfältigen Stolz zu empfinden, wenn sie alle vier Jahre ein paar Kreuzchen machen dürfen.“
