Am 09. Mai habe ich dann die deutschsprachige Übersetzung des Buches von der Post abgeholt. Es war recht schwer ein Exemplar dieser Übersetzung zu finden und zu erwerben. Anscheinend gab es nur eine einzige und relativ kleine Auflage im Jahre 1984.
Aber die Anschaffung hat sich gelohnt. Rose Wilder Lane war eine Gründungspersönlichkeit der us-amerikanischen Libertarians und speziell in diesem Werk nimmt sie explizit Bezug auf die Rolle der Propheten, bei der Grundlegung freiheitlicher Werte in der Menschheitsgeschichte.
Namentlich werden in dieser Hinsicht ausdrücklich und lobend die Gottesgesandten Abraham, Moses, Jesus und besonders ausführlich auch Mohamed und der Islam behandelt. Allah segne sie alle und schenke ihnen Heil.
Zu erwähnen wäre noch, dass der Übersetzer des Buches, der Luxemburger Jean Pierre Hamilius, das Werk reichlich mit eigenen Texten ausschmückte. Diese Ergänzungen sind zwar inhaltlich manchmal interessant und lehrreich, aber leider nicht als solche gekennzeichnet. So ist man als Leser gezwungen umständlich im englischsprachigen Original zu schauen, wenn man in Erfahrung bringen möchte, ob eine bestimmte Passage nun von Rose Wilder Lane oder von Jean Pierre Hamilius stammt.
Den einen oder anderen Auszug aus dem Buch habe ich bereits im Blog verewigt und ganz sicher werde ich hier auch in Zukunft aus diesem Werk zitieren. In schaa Allah.
