Mein palästinensischer Hausarzt, ein Doktor der Allgemeinmedizin, erklärte mir kürzlich, dass erschreckend viele Konvertiten teils krankhafte Komplexe, Phobien, Präferenzen (Neigungen) und Zwänge mit in den Islam nähmen und dort unter dem Vorwand der Religion teils exzessiv ausleben würden.
Besonders seien soziale Ängste und Persönlichkeitsstörungen auffällig, es würden häufig Minderwertigkeitskomplexe kompensiert und neue Identitäten (Persönlichkeiten) geschaffen.
Auf der einen Seite wird dadurch sicherlich die oberflächliche psychische Belastung reduziert und eine gewisse Zufriedenheit hergestellt, aber andererseits wirkt sich dieser Umstand auch auf das hiesige Islambild aus.
Krankhafte Wahnvorstellungen können aus der islamischen Esoterik (Ulum al-ghaib) hergeleitet, soziale Ängste durch persönlichen Rückzug und Vollverschleierung kompensiert und Minderwertigkeits- sowie Überlegenheitskomplexe durch die offenbarte Rechtmäßigkeit der Lehre verdeckt oder bedient werden.
Die Tatsache, dass das religiöse Erklärungsmuster für den Erkrankten zuallererst eine Milderung der Auswirkungen darstellt, ist sicherlich begrüßenswert, aber leider werden die Erkrankungen an sich mit den selbigen Erklärungsmustern auch legitimiert und als „normal“ erachtet. Dies führt leider nicht selten dazu, dass es in bestimmten Bereichen der religiösen Lebensführung zu Übertreibungen kommt.
Besonders auffällig für diese Diagnose sind für meinen Hausarzt vor allem auch solche Konvertiten, die sich mit Annahme des Islam beginnen zu verkleiden. Junge und ältere deutsche Muslime, die sich – hier Nord- und Mitteleuropa lebend – auf einmal anziehen, als seien sie aus der 50er Jahre-DDR-Verflimung des Kleinen Muck ausgebüxt oder aus einem Beduinenzelt entfleucht. Für ihn, sogar als Araber, wirkt das äußerst befremdlich und vermittelt nach seinem Dafürhalten auch keinen religiösen, sondern eher kulturellen Standpunkt, der einen Mangel an eigener Identität vermittelt.
Ich kann meinem Hausarzt hier in vielerlei Hinsicht zustimmen. Und es gibt wirklich ein paar sehr schräge Vögel unter uns Konvertiten. Doch was können wir tun?
Aufrichtig müssen wir sein, in allem was wir tun. Wir sollten all unsere Taten hinterfragen und ehrlich mit uns selbst sein. Tun wir wirklich alles nur für Allah und für den Islam, oder befriedigen wir manchmal lediglich unsere Neigungen auf Kosten der Religion?

Ich meine das bereits zu sehen. Ich finde, dass man da zu locker ist und solche auch aus gewissen Aktivitäten schlicht und einfach ausschließen soll. Allahu alim.
