Er schickte seine Männer nach Europa um Kupfer zu importieren und sicherte sich (das alleinige Recht für) die Prägung, um (diese Münzen) dann gegen (das sich im Umlauf befindliche) Geld zu tauschen.
Unter seiner Verwaltung wurden die fulus in der Kairoer Münzanstalt geprägt. Zusätzlich eröffnete er auch in Alexandria eine Münzanstalt, nur zum Zwecke der fulus-Prägung. Extrem große Mengen an fulus kamen in die Hände der Menschen und diese brachten sie dermaßen weitreichend in Umlauf, dass sie die vorherrschende Währung des Landes wurden. […] Dies führte zu einer Katastrophe, da das Geld unbrauchbar wurde und die Lebensmittel knapp wurden. […]“
