Unlängst, während eines kurzen Ägyptenaufenthaltes, empfing ich mit meiner Frau zusammen eine alte Bekannte. Während hierzulande die meisten Leute klar Partei ergreifen – entweder für oder gegen Flüchtlinge – und sich aufgrund dessen mittlerweile sogar eine deutliche gesellschaftliche Spaltung vollzogen hat, hatte die Schwester (mit ein wenig Abstand vom Geschehen) eine erfreulich ausgeglichene Meinung. Sie meinte zu uns:
«Ich kann die Syrer, die sich jetzt auf den Weg nach Europa und vor allem nach Deutschland machen, vollkommen verstehen.
